ROSTRAVER TWP., Pa. — The Ringgold Rams avenged the abrupt end to the 2020 Class-B Championship run in dramatic fashion, defeating the Elizabeth Forward Warriors 9-3 at Rostraver Ice Garden on Monday night. Kenneth Cadwallader scored his first Varsity hat trick for the Rams, and Nathan Boulanger registered five points.

The two teams seemed destined to play a tight game after the initial Ringgold rush wore down at the 13-minute mark of the first, but Cadwallader, a freshman, became more comfortable as the game progressed and scored once at 1:15 and again at 11:15 of the second period, with a Tayte Donovan goal splitting the difference at 6:18 to set the score at 4-2 after two periods.

The peace lasted for a few minutes into the third, as Trenton Hawk, Zach Kalinowski, Ethan Saylor, Nicholas Nagy, and Cadwallader all scored to put the game away late.

The Rams opened up the scoring early as Boulanger netted his first at 5:57 and tallied his second at 12:58. Joey Wach brought the Warriors back within one before the end of the opening frame, firing a shot home a mere 15 seconds later.

Cadwallader (1-3) and Kalinowski (1-3) finished with four points, while Huunter Suarez had three assists. Zach Motil added a goal in the third for the Warriors.

Jerry Mease stopped 16 of 19 shots for the Rams, while Gabe Myers was peppered all evening, stopping 29 of 38 shots for Elizabeth-Forward.
