Robert Morris forward Emma Low-A-Chee will transfer to Ryerson University in Toronto, Ontario.

Low-A-Chee, 18, would have been a sophomore in the 2017-18 season. In here first season with the Colonials 2016-17, she skated in 20 contests without recording a point and finished the year with a minus-1 rating. A Toronto native, Low-A-Chee also played junior hockey for the Toronto Aeros.

“It is close to home and I really like Lisa (Haley) as a coach and person,” Low-A-Chee said in a press release.

Haley welcomed a former NCAA Division I player to skate with the Rams, which play in the Ontario University Athletics conference. The Colonials and Aeros played an exhibition before the 2016-17 season, which Robert Morris won, 2-0.

“She has a presence on the ice with her intimidating style of play, a strong shot, and relentless pursuit of the puck,” Haley said. “Our coaching staff is looking forward to the positive contribution Emma will make to our program both on the ice and in the dressing room.”

In addition to Low-A-Chee, the Colonials will have to replace departed seniors Jessica Dodds, Maeve Garvey, Mackenzie Johnston, Mikaela Lowater and Rikki Meilleur from their 2017 College Hockey America championships squad.
