WARRENDALE, Pa. – Aaron Miller had four points as the North Allegheny Tigers defeated the Butler Golden Tornado 8-3 on Tuesday night at Baierl Ice Complex.

The Golden Tornado started the game with immense pressure on the Tigers, only to succumb to multiple odd-man breaks for the home team, as the Tigers received goals from William Parreaguirre, Miller, Christopher Hanlon, Collin O’Neill, and Hayden Shimko before the first intermission. Miller, a junior, jumped on the puck after a broken play at the blue line by Butler and scored a shorthanded goal on a breakaway.

After Hanlon scored his second goal of the night for the Tigers, Butler continued to fight back and tallied three of the remaining four goals on the period. Ronan Miller, Trevor Gilliland and Connor Bachman cut the lead to 7-3 before the second period break. Tyler Putnam scored the remaining Tigers goal in the period.

The first six minutes of the third belonged to Butler, however a breakdown on an errant penalty kill led to Millers second goal of the evening, and that took the remaining momentum out of Butler’s sails.

Five Tigers had multi-point games in the affair, as Miller’s two goals and two assists led both teams on the scoresheet.

North Allegheny moves on to play top-ranked Peters Twp. at RMU Island Sports Center on Thursday, March 15 at 7:15 p.m.
