CRANBERRY TWP., Pa. — The Buffalo Beauts squared up against the Connecticut Whale for a special NWHL match up at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Center.

The Whale took an early lead, netting their first goal three minutes in with a shot from Emily Fluke. The Beauts answered twice before the end of the period taking a 2-1 lead. Buffalo held their lead through the second period, and things started to get heated. Early in the third, Connecticut tied it up 2-2. Robert Morris University Alum, Rebecca Vint, reclaimed her dominance in Pittsburgh and stole a 3-2 lead for the Beauts, though the Whale answered shortly thereafter, the Beauts took the game 4-3 on a Lisa Chesson goal.

With this win, Vint had a phenomenal return to Pittsburgh with a 3 point game (1G, 2A). Colleen Murphy, older sister to Senior Katherine Murphy at Robert Morris, would also find her name on the box score with an assist- her first career point.

Both teams will head to Buffalo for a rematch at the HarborCenter on January 20th with a 1 p.m. puck drop.
