Bowling Green senior captain and Pittsburgh native Connor Ford has transferred to the University of North Dakota, Pittsburgh Hockey Digest learned Monday. Brad Schlossman, a writer for the Grand Forks Herald, first broke the news via twitter on Mar. 29 that Ford had entered the transfer portal. Ford posted news of his decision on his personal Instagram account.

Ford tallied 18 points in 41 games during his freshman year at Bowling Green. He scored the only goal in a 1-0 game 2 win of the WCHA conference semifinals against Northern Michigan. The Falcons lost that three-game series, 2-1.

He was named alternate captain his junior year in 2019 and scored 34 points in 36 games that season.

This season, Ford notched 28 points in 31 games as captain of the Falcons.

Bowling Green fell in the first round of the WCHA playoffs to Northern Michigan, losing 5-1 in the third game after winning the second game 5-0. The team finished 20-10-1 overall and 8-5-1 in conference play.

In 2019, Ford notched an assist in the conference championship, but Bowling Green fell in overtime to Minnesota State, 3-2. Despite making the NCAA Tournament, the Falcons fell to Minnesota Duluth in overtime of the regional round, 2-1.

Last season, the team made it to the conference semifinals before the tournament was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ford also played two seasons with the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite under-14, under-16, and under-18 teams from 2012-2014. In 71 games, Ford tallied 19 goals and 26 assists.
