Former Robert Morris forward Aneta Ledlova has officially signed a contract with AIK in the Swedish Women’s Hockey League (SDHL).

Ledlova, a native of Kadan, Czech Republic, played two seasons with the Colonials and she tallied a total of 18 points, scoring nine points in consecutive seasons. She scored five goals and four assists in 31 games in 2016-16 and two goals and seven assists in 23 games in 2017-18. She played her final game of the season Jan. 27 against Penn State.

Ledlova has also been an integral part of the Czech Republic women’s national team. As a member of that team in 2012-13, she won bronze at the U18 World Women’s Championship and was named the MVP for her team.

She leaves RMU with two seasons of eligibility remaining to play professional hockey in the SDHL, a 10-team circuit that’s regarded as one of the top women’s hockey leagues in the world.

“The Sweidsh league is one of the best and AIK is a very good team and has a great potential to be one of the best teams for the coming season,” Ledlova said on AIK’s website.

“I have been very impressed with her attitude and her aspiration to constantly develop” AIK head coach Jared Cipparone.

AIK is based in Stockholm, Sweden and opens play against SDE HF on Aug. 12. Former Robert Morris forward Mackenzie Johnston played for SDE in 2017-18.
