WARRENDALE, Pa. —  A three-goal second period led second-seeded Seneca Valley over Bethel Park, 4-1, in the first game of the 2018 Penguins Cup playoffs on Monday.

The Black Hawks took a 1-0 lead after the opening frame on a goal by Vince Vituccio, but after the teams changed ends it was all Raiders.

Andrew Dimond and Bryce Korner lit the lamp at even strength and then Noah Watkiss added a power-play goal.

The game had a significant delay due to ice issues after the second period. When teams resumed play, it was all even until Tyler Draper added an empty netter for the victorious Raiders.

The game was the only one in the Triple-A bracket played on Monday.

Seneca Valley will await the winner of the Cathedral Prep-Mt. Lebanon game in the semifinals. That game, along with the other two quarterfinal matchups, will be played on Thursday.

The Triple-A semifinals will be held Thursday, March 15 at RMU Island Sports Center.
