WARRENDALE, PA. — Goaltender Daniel Soltesz turned aside 37 shots and Oldrich Virag scored a clutch third period goal as Franklin Regional advanced, 2-1 over Mars in the PIHL Class-AA playoffs on Tuesday at Baierl Ice Complex.
Franklin got the scoring started with a Trent Lunden power-play goal in the second period and Mars tied things up on William Foley’s goal to set up a decisive third period.
Virag came through with an even-strength goal at 14:58 of the third period to send the Panthers to victory.
