Bishop McCort defeats North Catholic 4-1

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – The unbeaten is no more as the Bishop McCort Crushers put an end to the North Catholic Trojans’ winning streak, 4-1 at the War Memorial on Tuesday.

Bishop McCort got out to an early two-goal lead in the first period when Adis Ultanbekov and Bryce Bair scored at 2:13 and 3:05. Dominic Dezort answered for North Catholic to cut the lead in half.

The Crushers continued their fast physical play with Benjamin Berkebile increasing Bishop McCort’s lead just 9 seconds into the second period. Ultanbekov ended a three point performance with his second goal of the night at 9:28.

Cole Bradley got the nod from the Crushers head coach to start in net where he stopped 19 of 20 shots on goal. Last weeks PHD Class-A Goaltender of the Week, Chris McFayden, started between the pipes for the Trojans and ended the night stopping 33 of 37 shots on goal.

UP NEXT:

Bishop McCort will stay at home for their next two games when they host Beaver on Tuesday, Nov. 26, and Greensburg-Salem on Tuesday, Dec. 3. Both of those games are scheduled for 8 p.m.

Things wont get easier for North Catholic as they have another hard opponent when they travel to Center Ice Arena to face Kiski Area on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 6:30 p.m. before going back home to host Chartiers Valley at UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex on Tuesday, Dec. 3rd, for a late 9:10 p.m. start time.
