JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – The unbeaten is no more as the Bishop McCort Crushers put an end to the North Catholic Trojans’ winning streak, 4-1 at the War Memorial on Tuesday.

Bishop McCort got out to an early two-goal lead in the first period when Adis Ultanbekov and Bryce Bair scored at 2:13 and 3:05. Dominic Dezort answered for North Catholic to cut the lead in half.

The Crushers continued their fast physical play with Benjamin Berkebile increasing Bishop McCort’s lead just 9 seconds into the second period. Ultanbekov ended a three point performance with his second goal of the night at 9:28.

Cole Bradley got the nod from the Crushers head coach to start in net where he stopped 19 of 20 shots on goal. Last weeks PHD Class-A Goaltender of the Week, Chris McFayden, started between the pipes for the Trojans and ended the night stopping 33 of 37 shots on goal.

Bishop McCort will stay at home for their next two games when they host Beaver on Tuesday, Nov. 26, and Greensburg-Salem on Tuesday, Dec. 3. Both of those games are scheduled for 8 p.m.

Things wont get easier for North Catholic as they have another hard opponent when they travel to Center Ice Arena to face Kiski Area on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 6:30 p.m. before going back home to host Chartiers Valley at UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex on Tuesday, Dec. 3rd, for a late 9:10 p.m. start time.
