NEVILLE TWP., Pa. — Cameron Bunn scored a hat trick as Bishop McCort advanced to the single-A Penguins Cup championship game with a 7-2 victory over Indiana on Tuesday evening at RMU Island Sports Center.

Indiana jumped out to an early lead when Luke Wachob fired a shot from the left circle past Crushers goaltender Cole Bradley. Bishop McCort didn’t take long to respond, as Matsvei Kurylovich fired home his first of two goals on the evening only 43 seconds later. Kurylovich added the go-ahead goal late in the first.

The Crushers continued to pepper Indiana netminder Madison Barker in the second. A Bunn shot from the slot trickled through Barker’s pads and gave Bishop McCort a 3-1 lead. Tyler Barker fired a puck through Bradley midway through the second to bring the Indians within one, but the Curshers scored twice in the final two minutes of the second to take a 5-2 lead into the intermission.

Bunn collected his second goal of the game at 11:49 of the third period to give Bishop McCort a four goal lead. Bunn’s hat-trick power-play goal ended any hope of an Indians comeback, and the undefeated Crushers continued their dominance over the |Single-A class.

The Crushers await the winner of the South Fayette Lions and Meadville Bulldogs for the Single-A Penguins Cup final. The championship match will be held at UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry Twp. on Monday, Mar. 19 at 8:30 p.m.
