Esmark Stars defeats Pens Elite 3-0

CRANBERRY TWP., Pa. – In a showdown featuring some of Pittsburgh’s best youth talent, the Esmark Stars defeated the Pens Elite 3-0 Saturday evening at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex.

Ryder Brophy opened the scoring early in the first period for the Stars before the game was taken over by both goaltenders. Connor Strobel (Esmark) and Kameron Cervi (Elite) kept the game close for their respective teams. No one scored again until the winding minutes of the final period when Dominic Dezort increased the Stars lead. Corbin Ragno finished the scoring with an empty netter.

 

UP NEXT:

After the conclusion of this weekend series, game two being Sunday, Dec. 8th at 10:50 am, the Pens Elite will travel to Rhode Island to play in a Northeast Pack Showcase and face Mount St. Charles ( Dec. 13th), Buffalo Jr. Sabres (Dec. 13th), North Jersey Avalanche (Dec. 14th) and South Kent Selects (Dec. 15th). The Esmark Stars travel to Blaine, Minnesota to partake in a NAPHL event where they will play Meijer AAA (Dec. 14th), Thunder Bay Kings (Dec. 14th), Omaha AAA (Dec. 15th) and Chicago Young Americans (Dec. 16th).
