SALEM TWP., Pa. – The Norwin Knights are one of only two unbeaten teams in Class-1A as they improved to 6-0 with a hard fought win over the Kiski Area Cavaliers (3-2) by a score of 4-3 Tuesday night at Center Ice Arena.

Micheal Rayburg opened the scoring at 5:33 of the first period to give the Cavaliers their only lead of the game. The top line for the Knights then got to work as Logan Connelly tied it and Mason Pivarnik put Norwin ahead, 2-1.

Matthew Drahos evened the score for Kiski Area early in the second period, but Norwin headed into the ice cut with the 3-2 lead off the stick of Aidan Rosko.

Jonathan Ayres tied the game for Kiski Area just 30 seconds into the third period, but it was Sal Cerilli, with his third goal of the season, that got the game winning goal for Norwin when he found the back of the net at 14:03 of the final period to seal the win for the Knights.

The game saw a total of 15 penatlies with Norwin coming up empty on 5 powerplays and Kiski Area going 1-for-4 with the man-advantage.

Both goaltenders gave up nothing easy as Sam Coll stopped 19 of 22 shots for the Knights and Eric Petika ended the game stopping 26 of 30 shots for Kiski.
