Rostraver’s Ice Garden a finalist for Kraft Hockeyville USA

ROSTRAVER ICE GARDEN

The Ice Garden in Rostraver, Pa. has been named an eastern finalist in the Kraft Hockeyville USA promotion.

There are 10 national finalist in the vote to determine the final four and then eventual winner of the grand prize, which is $150,000 in rink upgrades and an NHL preseason game to be played at the venue.

Voting can be done at www.krafthockeyville.com and starts on April 11. The other eastern finalists are Falmouth Ice Arena in Falmouth, Mass., Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex in Rostraver, N.Y., Louis Astorino Arena in Hamden, Conn., and Ira S. Wilson Ice Arena in Geneseo, N.Y.

In 2015, Johnstown’s Cambria County War Memorial Arena won the contest and hosted a game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Tampa Bay Lightning. Lakeview Arena in Marquette, Mich., won in 2016.

The Ice Garden was built in 1965 and is currently the home of the California University of Pennsylvania ACHA club teams; Elizabeth Forward, Ringgold, Serra Catholic and Thomas Jefferson PIHL high school teams and the Mon Valley Thunder Youth Hockey Association.
