CASTLE SHANNON, Pa. — The Baldwin Highlanders stayed undefeated, improving to 8-0 after a 10-2 shelling of the Hampton Talbots Monday night at Ice Castle Arena.
Eight different players scored for the Highlanders, including two by team points leader Keith Reed. Joey Jacobs opened the scoring at 3:11 of the first period before Reed made it 2-0 Baldwin at the 12:15 mark. Ethan Varley scored on a power play for Hampton a couple minutes later, but Robbie Aranos answered for Baldwin with 11 seconds left in the first period to extend the Highlander’s lead to 3-1.
Reed notched his second of the game not long after, just 10 seconds into the second period. Zach Pender and Dom Trimbur each had a goal sandwiched around Hampton’s only other goal of the game, from Joey Pankowski, as Baldwin took a 6-2 lead into the ice cut.
The third period was all Highlanders with Jimmy Dulya joining the party just over four minutes in and Justin Pollard notching his own just eight seconds later. A second from Trimbur and then one from Logan Picchi with 1:49 to play sealed the 10-2 win for Baldwin.
Tanner Cindrich made 15 saves on 17 shots for Baldwin for his sixth win of the season. Jake McGee started the game for Hampton but was pulled in favor of Brendon Frankel after allowing eight goals. Frankel allowed two goals in the final 12:31 of the third period.
Baldwin finishes the first half of their season 8-0 and will host Plum at Ice Castle Arena on Thursday, Jan 9 at 7 p.m.
Hampton fell to 2-8 and will host Quaker Valley at Frozen Pond Arena on Monday Dec 16 at 9:10 p.m. before the Talbots take their winter break.
