Robert Morris’ Women’s Hockey Team will being its 2018-2019 season at home against St. Lawrence on Sept. 28 and 29.
The Colonials have a strong non-conference schedule, and it gets tough right from puck drop. After the Saints visit to start the season, Robert Morris will make a trip to Potsdam, New York for two games against 2017-18 NCAA champions Clarkson.
The rest of the non-conference schedule will see them host RPI Oct. 12-13, Colgate Nov. 9-10, Minnesota State Nov. 16-17, Cornell Nov. 23-24 and visit Minnesota Dec. 7-8.
“We feel [this schedule] will be a great opportunity to see some of the best teams in the country, both at home and on the road,” head coach Paul Colontino said in a press release. “Ten of our 14 non-conference games will be against teams that finished the season in the top ten … including both the national champion and runner-up.”
Robert Morris will enjoy a four series home-stand through November and December before traveling to Minnesota.
The season will close out with home series against CHA rivals Mercyhurst and Syracuse. The Lakers ended RMU’s 2017-18 season in the CHA Tournament final.
The 2019 CHA Tournament will be held March 6-8 at HarborCenter in Buffalo, New York. The 2019 NCAA Tournament will have its quarterfinals at campus sites on March 15-16 and the 2019 Frozen Four will be March 22-24 at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut.
Robert Morris will host the University of Ottawa Institute of Technology in an exhibition game on Sept. 22.
