Robert Morris defenseman Eric Israel and goaltender Jessica Dodds have earned weekly honors from their respective conferences for their play last weekend.
Israel, a sophomore, was named the Atlantic Hockey Defensive Player of the Week. He had six points in his team’s season-opening weekend at RIT. In Robert Morris’ 6-5 win on Saturday, Israel had a goal and four assists, for the first five-point performance by a defenseman in Colonials history.
Dodds, a senior, is the College Hockey America Goaltender of the week. She started the Colonials’ game against RPI on Saturday and made 26 saves in a 1-1 tie. Through the first four games of the season, Dodds ranks second in the CHA in goals against average (1.44) and save percentage (.949).
Additionally, the Robert Morris women received two votes in the USA Today Women’s College Hockey Poll. The poll ranks the top 10 teams in the country and RMU was third amongst others receiving votes. They were the highest-ranked CHA team.
The Robert Morris men are off this weekend. The women will host Vermont.
