ITR: Indiana @ South Park

CASTLE SHANNON, PA. – Both teams have clinched playoff spots with the South Park Eagles sitting in the 3rd seed and the Indiana Indians in a 4th seed. Madison Barker (7-3, SV%: 0.883) got her 10th start of the season for the Indians. The Eagles saw Shane Peremba (3-2, SV%: 0.934) start between the pipes.

Indiana’s speedsters were first to get on the board as Eddy Williams (3:07) found the back of the net :16 seconds into the first powerplay of the night. While the Eagles got a lot of shots off throughout the game, Indiana had bodies blocking shots and clearing any possible rebounds from in front of the net.

Vinny Sherry (6:18) made it 2-0 for the Indians in the second period.

South Park finally found the back of the net midway through the third period. Thomas Quirin sent a rising slapper from the point on a power play and Garrett Brecosky (9:27) deflected it past Indiana’s goaltender.

Madison Barker ended the night stopping 34 of 35 shots on goal and the Indians went 1 for 2 on the powerplay.

Shane Peremba stopped 30 of 32 shots and the Eagles were 1 for 5 with the man advantage.

Indiana has six games remaining in the regular season. The Indians will head back home to host A East leader Bishop McCort, who’s ineligible for the postseason, on Thursday, January 17th, at S&T Bank Arena.

South Park only has five game left in their regular season. The Eagles will travel to Wheeling, WV, to play Wheeling Park, who’s ineligible for the postseason, on Thursday, January 24th.
