DUNBAR TWP., Pa. — Brian Mitchell headed south for a pivotal 3-4 matchup in the co-op division, as No. 4 Connellsville defeated No. 3 Neshannock 5-3 at the Ice Mine. Both teams had an opportunity to punch their ticket to the Division-2 postseason- Neshannock needed one point, Connellsville two.
Jeffery Golembiewski opened the scoring for the Falcons, and the Lancers quickly responded with a goal by Theodore Saad. Ryan Brown scored two of the next four goals for the Falcons and Connellsville held a lead 5-1 early in the third period. Neshannock closed out the scoring with goals by Robert Pozzuto and Nolan Earl.
Connellsville moves into third place in Division-2, one point ahead of Neshannock and the Falcons also punched their ticket to the postseason.
