JOHNSTOWN, Pa. — The city and the region are celebrating the 40th anniversary of the debut of the famous hockey film Slap Shot.
The NAHL’s Johnstown Tomahawks took part by debuting special uniforms based on the uniforms worn in the movie by the fictional Charlestown Chiefs.
The Tomahawks won their game against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights, 3-2 in a shootout.
