NAHL tenders plentiful for Esmark Stars, Wildcats

The Esmark Stars, defending midget major under-18 champions were heavily recruited by the franchises of the NAHL, where six players have been tendered offers to play in the league.

A pair of Latrobe Wildcats, Blake Rossi and J.T. Schimizzi, signed tenders earlier this year. Forward Schimizzi leaves for Fairbanks after leading the Tigers with 17 goals and 38 points in 18 games while accumulating 19 goals and 51 points in 61 games with the Stars. Defenseman Rossi is heading to Amarillo after having registered 10 goals and 27 points for Josh Werner’s squad and 19 goals and 37 points for Esmark.

Fairbanks added another forward in Parker Brown. The Hanahan, South Carolina native scored 21 goals and 57 points in 61 games for the Stars.

The Johnstown Tomahawks also tendered a pair, as defenseman Ethan Webb and forward Andrew Murphy joined the Tomahawks. Webb joined the team towards the end of the year, registering an assist with the Tomahawks in three contests. Murphy, a Youngstown native, ended his Stars career with an impressive 16 goals and 52 points in 56 games.

Washington, Pa.’s Nathan Hilzendeger, the most recently tendered Stars skater, joined the Kenai River Brown Bears. Hilzendeger netted 20 goals and 36 points in 61 games last season.
