The Robert Morris Colonials (5-0) earned the No. 2 seed in the 2021 ACHA Men’s Division 1 Tournament and will face the No. 15 Davenport Panthers (3-6) at the Maryville University Hockey Center in St. Louis, Missouri on Friday, Apr. 16 at 5:45 p.m.
Robert Morris completed an abbreviated season with a 4-1 victory over the West Virginia Mountaineers (0-2) in the 2021 CHMA Championship on Mar. 27 at the RMU Island Sports Center. The Colonials briefly made an appearance as the No. 1 ranked team in the country on Mar. 17 before finishing No. 2. It is the highest position in the national rankings that a CHMA team has ever finished the season.
Mercyhurst (1-4) was the only other CHMA team to compete this season. The Lakers fell to West Virginia 6-3 in the first round of the three-team CHMA Tournament on Mar. 26. West Virginia did not play any regular season games prior to the tournament.
Forward Joey Zottola leads Men’s Division 1 in points per game at 2.75 with a minimum of three games played. Kevin Mackey leads the team with a 1.50 goals against average and a 0.950 save percentage.
