The three largest Ontario Hockey League, North American Hockey League and United States Hockey League have all suspended operations in response to the continuing concern over the public health threat of novel coronavirus COVID-19.
The three leagues are the top junior leagues in this part of North America, and their announcement came in concert with that of the NFL, NCAA, AHL and ECHL to take similar steps.
Three regional teams will be affected: the Erie Otters of the OHL, the Youngstown Phantoms of the USHL and the Johnstown Tomahawks of the NAHL.
