PITTSBURGH — The Robert Morris University Colonials took on the No. 11 Providence College Friars in the Championship game of the 2017 Three Rivers Classic.
The Friars started off the scoring in the first period with a goal from Scott Conway. The Colonials came back in the second when Ryley Risling put one behind Hayden Hawkey, only to be answered by Pittsburgh Penguins prospect Kasper Bjorkqvist. It was an even match in the third period, with both teams coming up empty. The Friars went on to win the Confluence Cup with a 2-1 victory over the Colonials.
The Colonials next match up against Niagara on Jan. 9.
