Princeton downs Robert Morris 11-1

NEVILLE TWP., PA– The Princeton Tigers defeated the Robert Morris Colonials 11-1 on Saturday afternoon at the Island.

The Colonials started hot, controlling the play for the first three minutes of the contest before Alaina Giampietro scored the opening goal at 3:01. Shades of Friday began to set in as the Tigers as Issy Wunder tied the contest :37 later, followed by Katherine Khramtsov’s tally at 4:50 and Angelina DiGirolamo’s first of the season at 11:18.

It was all Princeton in the second as the Tigers reeled off four goals. Mackenzie Alexander (2:26) and Gabby Kim (7:19) scored short-handed goals before Jane Kuehl (10:36) and Sarah Paul’s fourth power-play goal of the weekend at 19:31 made it 7-1 on a 5-on-3.

The Tigers piled it on in the third, as Emerson O’Leary, DiGirolamo, Wunder and Lucia DiGirolamo added to the scoresheet.

Lucy Phillips started the contest, stopping 5-of-8 shots before being replaced by Maggie Hatch at 11:18 of the first, who stopped 34-of-40. Liviya Rubin stopped 4-of-6 in the final 13:45 of the contest. Taylor Hyland stopped 20-of-21 for Princeton.

Robert Morris heads to Goffstown, N.H. to face St. Anslem on Friday and Saturday. Face-off from Sullivan Arena takes place at 4:00 Friday and noon on Saturday. The games will be broadcast on FloHockey.
