The home-and-home weekend series between the Robert Morris Colonials men’s hockey team and the Niagara Purple Eagles has been postponed, the Robert Morris athletics announced Thursday. Makeup dates were not included in the announcement.
“The health and safety of the RMU and Moon Township community remains paramount as RMU Athletics continues to follow university, local, state and national guidelines in response to the global pandemic,” the university said in a press release.
Robert Morris is currently 5-2 on the season after sweeping an away series at Air Force Dec. 4-5. Niagara is 1-1-1 on the season. Their opening series against St. Lawrence the weekend of Nov. 20 was canceled, while their home-and-home series against RIT was postponed one week to Dec. 5-6. That series resulted in a 5-4 shootout loss and a 5-1 regulation loss. The Purple Eagles defeated No. 7 Clarkson 4-1 on Wednesday, Dec. 9.
The Colonials’ Dec. 29 game at Bowling Green has not been affected and is still scheduled to be played.
